This message is sent on behalf of Angela Campbell, Interim Deputy Provost (Student Life and Learning).

Dear students,

We are pleased to report that a new 5-year Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between the Students’ Society of Â鶹ɫÇ鯬 (SSMU) and Â鶹ɫÇ鯬. This MoA was reached pursuant to months of discussions and negotiations. While this process was not always easy, we reached a positive outcome that will stand to benefit all students through collaboration and compromise on both sides.

With this new MoA, Â鶹ɫÇ鯬 and the SSMU alike reaffirm our commitment to working for the benefit of all students we represent in a principled, rigorous, and equitable manner. Although the SSMU and Â鶹ɫÇ鯬 are distinct organizations and have had our differences, we have a shared interest in building social cohesion and trust across our campus and in working to ensure that Â鶹ɫÇéƬ is a place where community can be fostered and that all students can flourish academically and personally.

Moving forward, the SSMU and Â鶹ɫÇ鯬 will continue our conversations, notably in relation to a new space agreement for the University Centre, which we hope will bring in more local food options to our downtown campus.

Best regards,

Angela Campbell

Interim Deputy Provost, Student Life & Learning, Â鶹ɫÇ鯬
