The nucleus it self also serves as a mechanosensor\, integrating cytoskeletal and externa l stresses. In my research\, we have found that nuclear strain mechanosens ing appears to be a master control parameter for the regulation of Yes Ass ociated Protein (YAP). In this talk\, I will describe the biophysical regu lation of YAP activity due to nuclear compression\, how this is modulated by the structural protein Lamin A/C\, and discuss some of the far-reaching applications from stem cell differentiation\, to cancer and cellular agin g.\n\n \n\nThis seminar will take place in-person and online (details in a ttached poster below)\n DTSTART:20230317T150000Z DTEND:20230317T160000Z LOCATION:Room 1034\, McIntyre Medical Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3G 1 Y6\, 3655 promenade Sir William Osler SUMMARY:Physiology Seminar by Dr. Allen J.
