The energy and excitement were palpable as first-year undergraduate and graduate students in all programs gathered for Orientation events. In-person sessions for graduate students were held at the Ingram School of Nursing while Bachelor of Science in Nursing students and those in the On Campus stream of the Bachelor of Nursing Integrated program (BNI) met at The Neuro’s Jeanne Timmins Amphitheatre. A virtual orientation session was held for the Bachelor of Nursing Integrated Online stream.

Access to respite services for caregivers increases the probability of dying at home by 2.7 times, according to an evaluative study by �鶹ɫ��Ƭ researcher Kelley Kilpatrick and her team. Titled “Factors that support home deaths for patients receiving at-home palliative and end-of-life care: a sequential mixed-methods explanatory study”, the paper was published in BMC Palliative Care.

Vascular Access Student Club wins national awards

The Ingram School of Nursing’s Vascular Access Student Club (VASC) team of talented executives and dedicated faculty advisors scored big at the 2025 National Canadian Vascular Access Association (CVAA) Conference held in PEI in May. The team was awarded 2nd place overall for their ultrasound-guided PIV insertion poster and won the People’s Choice Award for their student-led influenza vaccination clinic poster.

Research on advanced practice nursing roles informs WHO report

The section on advanced practice nursing In the World Health Organization’s recently released State of the World’s Nursing 2025 Report was informed in part by research conducted by Associate Professor Kelley Kilpatrick. Prof. Kilpatrick holds the Susan E. French Chair in Nursing Research and Innovative Practice at the Ingram School of Nursing, and is a researcher at the Centre de recherche de l'Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, part of the CIUSSS de l'Est-de-l'Île-de-Montréal.

Graduates honoured for excellence at awards reception

At a reception hosted by the Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN), nine graduating students were awarded convocation prizes for leadership, academic excellence, and passion for nursing. On October 1, 2024, Lynne McVey, RN, MSc(A)N, began her 5-year mandate as Associate Dean and Director, Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN). Recognized for her extensive experience in both nursing practice and as a CEO in healthcare, Prof. McVey is a two-time graduate of �鶹ɫ��Ƭ university, and completed a fellowship in the Wharton Fellows Program in Health Management for Nurse Executives at the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, as well as the Strategy for Healthcare Delivery Program at Harvard Business School. We sat down with Prof.
