The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Jennifer Raso has received the Scholarly Paper Award of the Canadian Association of Law Teachers (CALT). She was honoured for her article “Data Entry and Decision Chains: Distributed Responsibility and Bureaucratic Disempowerment in the UK’s Universal Credit Programme”, co-authored with Victoria Adelmant.

CASSOA, EASA and �鶹ɫ��Ƭ Institute of Air and Space Law, wrapped up a crucial 2-day Legal Workshop focused on developing uniform air laws for the EAC partner states. The workshop brought together legal delegates from the national Civil Aviation Authorities and the national Ministries of Transport of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Tanzania as well as aviation experts from the East African Community (EAC) Secretariate and Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA).

IASL participates in the Manfred Lachs Moot Court (African Regional Rounds)

The �鶹ɫ��Ƭ Institute of Air and Space Law was delighted to participate in the 16th Africa Regional Round of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition, held on 22 and 23 May 2025 at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria, South Africa. Dr. Arnold Agaba (Postdoctoral Researcher and Chair the Research Group on African Air and Space Law) served as a judge during the competition, sharing his expertise and helping to inspire the next generation of African space lawyers.

The �鶹ɫ��Ƭ Institute of Air and Space Law was proud to once again support the 5th US Spacecom Legal Conference in Colorado Springs. This two-day event brought together legal practitioners, academics, and military personnel to explore key developments in space law.

IASL Executive Director Stefan-Michael Wedenig contributed to the discussions with insights on the law of armed conflict and the implications of artificial intelligence. It was also a pleasure to reconnect with many of our alumni and engage in thought-provoking exchanges.

Exam period access to Nahum Gelber Law Library for Winter 2025

As of Monday April 7, �鶹ɫ��Ƭ students are able to access the Nahum Gelber Law Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of �鶹ɫ��Ƭ (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the April 10 to 30 examination period.
