While in-person r egistration for this event is currently closed\, you can register to atten d the event virtually.\n\nNeurogenesis: HBHL's New Faculty Recruit Speaker Series\n\nThursday\, February 9\, 2023\n 4:00–5:00 p.m.\n\nHybrid seminar followed by an informal\, post-event reception with refreshments for those attending in person\n\n1010 Sherbrooke St. West\, Suite 1800\n\nThe Neuro genesis speaker series will give you the opportunity to get to know HBHL’s new recruits firsthand—to learn about their research\, ask questions and get to know them over refreshments.\n\nEach event in the series will featu re two HBHL faculty recruits whose research areas provide an interesting c ontrast or intersection for discussion.\n\nFebruary speakers:\n\n\n Mahsa D adar\, PhD\, will talk about her work on ex vivo brain scanning and neurod egenerative disease\; and\n Yue Li\, PhD\, will present his work on polygen ic risk score modelling and topic-guided PheWAS using UK Biobank data\n\n \nCan't make it in person? No worries!\n \n To better meet the accessibility needs of the Â鶹ɫÇ鯬 community\, HBHL is now offering the possibility to a ttend the Neurogenesis presentation session remotely (childcare subsidy pr ogram also available for those interested in attending in person).\n\n\nSp eakers\n\nMahsa Dadar\n\nMahsa Dadar's team aims to investigate the role o f cerebrovascular pathology in aging and neurodegenerative disease populat ions. Her research program has three main components: (1) Developing neuro imaging and machine learning tools to accurately detect and track signs of cerebrovascular and neurodegenerative pathologies\; (2) Investigating the relationship between cerebrovascular and neurodegenerative pathologies\, the impact of lifestyle and environmental factors on these diseases\, and the impact of cerebrovascular pathology on clinical outcomes in neurodegen erative disease populations\; and (3) Ex-vivo assessment of cerebrovascula r disease using post-mortem MRI and histology.\n\nYue Li\n\nYue Li's resea rch is focused on developing interpretable probabilistic-learning and deep -learning models of genetic\, epigenetic\, electronic health record and si ngle-cell genomic data. By systematically integrating multimodal and longi tudinal data\, his lab aims to have impactful applications in computationa l medicine\, including building intelligent clinical recommender systems\, forecasting patient health trajectories\, offering personalized polygenic risk predictions\, characterizing multi-trait functional genetic mutation s\, and dissecting cell-type-specific regulatory elements that are underpi n complex traits and diseases in humans. His research program covers three main research areas involving applied machine learning in: (1) healthcare and public health\; (2) computational genomics\; and (3) population genet ics.\n DTSTART:20230209T210000Z DTEND:20230209T220000Z LOCATION:Suite 1800\, Lovelace Conference Room\, Sherbrooke 1010\, CA\, Mon tréal\, H3A 2R7\, 1010 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Neurogenesis: New Faculty Recruit Speaker Series URL:/hbhl/channels/event/neurogenesis-new-faculty-recr uit-speaker-series-344618 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
