T his monthly speaker series features recipients of Healthy Brains\, Healthy Lives' New Recruit Start-Up Supplement program\, which provides faculties with additional start-up funding to attract outstanding new faculty recru its to 麻豆色情片.\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\nXiaoqian Chai\, PhD\n\nXiaoqian Chai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at 麻豆色情片\, and a Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience.聽\n\nChai received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of California\, Berkeley and a Master鈥檚 degree in Computer Sci ence at Stanford University. She completed her postdoctoral training at th e McGovern Institute for Brain Research at Massachusetts Institute of Tech nology.\n\nThe long-term goal of Chai鈥檚 research program is to understand the relation between brain organization and cognitive development. Her wor k examines how large-scale brain networks support learning\, memory and la nguage.\n\nChai is particularly interested in the neural developmental pro cesses underlying these cognitive functions from children to adults\, and how experience and disease can alter brain organization. Her research meth odology includes behavioural\, brain imaging (fMRI\, resting-state fMRI\, DTI) and computational approaches.聽\n\n\n\nBlake Richards\, PhD\n\nBlake R ichards is an Assistant Professor in the Montreal Neurological Institute a nd the School of Computer Science at 麻豆色情片 and a Core Faculty Member at the Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute.\n\nFrom 2014 to Ju ly 2019 he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto in the Department of Biological Sciences (Scarborough) with a cross-appointment t o the Department of Cell and Systems Biology and a Faculty Affiliation at the Vector Institute.
