Prior to this\, she completed a M aster of Science in Nursing at 麻豆色情片 and an MBA at the Univers ity of New Brunswic. Her career has been focused on clinical performance i mprovement and the optimization of patient outcomes through streamlined cl inical processes and evidence-based protocols. For many years\, she led a surgical quality improvement program in a large tertiary care institution and subsequent to this\, she led the design and implementation of a rigoro us process of performance improvement across three cancer centers in Montr eal\, Quebec. More recently\, she led the creation of standardized pan-Can adian quality indicators in the management of bladder cancer. Satya's long -term goal is to advance patient care\, primarily in the field of oncology \, through research-based initiatives and knowledge translation strategies .\n\nIn this presentation\, Satya will present results from the first phas e of her mixed-methods study on lung cancer diagnostic trajectories in the primary care setting. A high proportion of lung cancer patients are diagn osed at advanced stages of the disease\, leading to very poor survival. Th e literature points to the critical importance of primary care in early di agnosis\, yet few studies have focussed on what happens from first patient presentation to secondary care referral. Using latent class analysis on h ealth care service utilization data from clinical databases and structured patient interviews\, two groups of lung cancer patients with similar patt erns of care in the primary care setting have been identified. The meaning and characteristics of these groups will be discussed\, alongside a compl imentary event sequence analysis that further characterizes the groups. La stly\, the next qualitative phase of research will be briefly presented.\n \nThis study was conducted at the Peter Brojde Lung Cancer Centre (PBLCC) within the Jewish General Hospital (JGH)\, with financial support from FRQ S and SRAP.\n \n Join us afterwards for our 'Buck-a-beer' Faculty\, Staff an d Student Mixer Event\, from 4 to 6 p.m.\n * Beer will be sold at 1$ each. \n \n Department of Family Medicine\n 5858 ch. de la C么te-des-Neiges\, Suite 300\n \n There is no parking on site and parking is limited in the area.
