Given our significant e fforts to synthesize various reduction-responsive systems utilizing disulf ide chemistry\, our group has recently focused on the development of an ef fective SRD strategy that centers on the design of new intracellular nanoc arriers exhibiting dual stimuli responses at dual locations (micellar core s and core/corona interfaces). With the focus on cellular endosomal/lysoso mal pH = 4.5-5.5 and a tripeptide glutathione\, our approach called dual l ocation dual acid/glutathione-responsive degradation (DL-DSRD) offers the versatility in that dual responses to each stimulus can independently regu late the release of encapsulated molecules\, and can facilitate synergisti c/accelerated release at dual locations.\n\nBio:\n\nDr. John Oh is a Canad a Research Chair Tier II and a full professor in the Department of Chemist ry and Biochemistry at Concordia University. He earned his PhD degree from the University of Toronto in the area of polymer chemistry and materials science. He then completed his NSERC-funded postdoctoral research at Carne gie Mellon University. He also experienced industrial R&D at Korea Chemica l Company in Korea and Dow Chemical Company in Michigan over 10 years befo re Concordia. He has authored and coauthored 119 peer-reviewed publication s and 7 invited book chapters and holds 16 international patents. His rese arch interests involve the design and processing of macromolecular nanosca le materials for drug delivery and cellular imaging as well as self-healab le materials.\n DTSTART:20210223T180000Z DTEND:20210223T193000Z SUMMARY:Chemical Society Seminar: John Oh - Dual location dual smart block copolymer nanoassembly/disassembly platform for cancer chemotherapy URL:/chemistry/channels/event/chemical-society-seminar -john-oh-dual-location-dual-smart-block-copolymer-nanoassemblydisassembly- 327727 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
