In 2014\, I joined Université de Montréal as a postdoctoral researcher where I study brain m echanisms underlying motor skill learning. I am advocate for science polic y\, science diplomacy and increasing scientific literacy among general pub lic. I currently serve as the Vice President at Science & Policy Exchange\ , which is an early career researcher-led non-profit organization devoted to engaging the next generation in science advocacy\, communication and ev idence-informed policy. SPE is committed to help scientists and policymake rs communicate effectively to better serve the public.\n\nMonica Anne Bata c is a Vanier Scholar and doctoral student at 鶹ɫƬ's School of Social Wo rk. A teacher by training\, Monica's research and practice focuses on capa city-building and community collaborations in the immigrant-serving sector \n\nMonica is committed to improving the wellbeing of Filipinos in Canada through community-based research and practice with an explicit interest in addressing knowledge to action gaps.\n\nMonica’s recent work focuses on i mproving local\, provincial\, and national community-based interventions f or Filipinos across the life course\, including newcomer youth\, Philippin e trained teachers\, front-line workers in the social services sector\, an d seniors. In addition to her social work research\, Monica also studies k nowledge mobilization practitioners\, brokers\, and researchers\, and soci al media and technology integration in higher education.\n\nPeter Norman L evesque is the founding President of the Institute for Knowledge Mobilizat ion – host of the Canadian Knowledge Mobilization Forum. Peter's interest in public interest science began in 1982. He has continued to build on his experience of bridging research and practice. Following a successful busi ness career\, he began a career in public service that included leadership positions at Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council\, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario\, and the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation. He is one of the founders of the global Living Knowledge network.  He was the pilot officer for the Community-University Research Alliance program that was the catalyst for knowledge mobilization at SSHRC. As an advisor and p rofessional consultant he has supported over 1200 client organizations\, s poken at over 425 events with a combined audience of over 250\,000 people\ , hosted workshop series and published articles in academic and profession al journals. He has studied in Biochemistry\, Sociology\, Economics\, Fina nce\, Insurance\, Public Administration\, Population Health\, Evidence-bas ed Medicine\, and currently in Art History and History of Religion. In 201 5 he was knighted by the Order of St. John and focuses his efforts on pall iative care of the poor and homeless. His passions are his family\, commun ity service as an active volunteer\, travel (107/195 countries so far)\, p hotography\, weird vehicles\, and teaching a new generation of leaders. \n \nSareda is a Knowledge Broker working in the Knowledge Exchange Centre (K EC) at the Mental Health Commission of Canada. She is managing an anti-sti gma project and is co-leading two projects related to aging and mental hea lth. Prior to joining the Commission\, Sareda was a Community Health Promo ter at the Somerset West Community Health Centre\, as well as a Senior Res earch Analyst conducting public opinion and market research projects in th e private sector. Sareda completed her Master of Public Health with a spec ialization in Health Promotion from the University of Alberta.\n\nInbal is the Scientific Liaison at the Centre for Research on Brain\, Language\, a nd Music. In this role\, she consults researchers regarding knowledge tran slation project planning\, leads knowledge translation workshops\, and man ages outreach programs aimed at building a bridge between scientists and t he world outside of academia. She also oversees the organization of centre activities targeting skill and knowledge development for students and fac ulty members.
